Job Title: Technical Security Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Security Specialist to join our team at Microsoft. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for driving our customers' security and AI transformation on the Microsoft platform.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Primary technical point of contact for potential customers during the sales process, owning and driving technical wins for security opportunities.
  • Deep technical understanding of cloud security architectures, solutions/technologies including Microsoft M365 Defender, Defender for Cloud, and Sentinel, as well as expertise in extended detection and response (XDR), zero trust, and cloud security solutions and architectures.
  • Remediate blockers; lead and ensure technical wins for Microsoft Security and adjacent technologies.
  • Engage with and reach out to customers proactively and independently; build credibility with customers as a trusted advisor for Microsoft Security; and facilitate handoff to customer success for post-sales deployment.
  • Develop strategies and recommendations to improve the client's security posture, shape technical win plans, and tailor Microsoft messaging to audiences for security opportunities.
  • Lead technical presentations, demonstrations, workshops, and architecture design sessions, explaining, demonstrating, and architecting the solution to help solve customer security challenges and priorities.
  • Drive cross-workload support for Microsoft solutions for security.
  • Leverage insights and coach teams to align new or changing technology to customer security needs.
  • Responsible for engaging with other teams within and outside the organization throughout the sales cycle.
  • Engaging partners in sell-with scenarios and supporting their technical capabilities is key to scaling solution delivery.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field AND 4+ years of experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, information technology (IT) consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting.
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience working in a customer-facing role (e.g., internal and/or external).
  • 4+ years of experience working on technical projects.
  • Technical Certification in Cloud (e.g., Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google, security certifications) preferred.
  • Threat protection, SIEM and Incident Response; Extended Detection and Response (XDR); Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR); Security Operation Center Management; Identity and Access Management; Cloud Infrastructure; Cloud Security; Data Security; Certification in one or more of the following technologies preferred: Microsoft 365 Security Administrator, Microsoft Security Operations, Cloud Security, CCSP, CEH, OSCP, GSEC.
