**Job Summary**

The British School of Kuwait is seeking a highly skilled Operations Officer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational activities of the school, with a strong emphasis on ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of students, staff, and visitors.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Daily Operational Management:
    • Oversight of daily logistical operations, including school facilities, transportation, and equipment maintenance.
    • Coordination and support of event scheduling, activities, and assemblies.
    • Supervision and development of operational staff, distributing workloads efficiently.
    • Oversight of school administration systems, including data management, communications, and procurement of supplies.
    • Coordination of major school events, visits, and activities, ensuring operational readiness.
    • Management of vendor relationships and contracts for maintenance.
  • Health & Safety:
    • Development, implementation, and monitoring of school health and safety policies.
    • Conducting regular risk assessments for facilities, equipment, and procedures.
    • Evidence-based compliance with local and national safety regulations, including fire drills, emergency preparedness plans, and first aid protocols.
    • Organizing health and safety training for staff and students.
    • Prompt response to health and safety incidents, maintaining detailed records.
    • Regular safety audits, fire drills, and ensuring proper maintenance of safety equipment.
    • Oversight of accident reporting and investigations, providing recommendations to address recurring issues.
    • Coordination with external advisors for expert guidance on safety standards.
  • Compliance and Policy Management:
    • Ensuring compliance with policies related to health, safety, data protection, and safeguarding.
    • Management and updating of school policies, maintaining adherence to government regulations.
    • Monitoring and reporting on compliance to the school leadership team.
  • Communication and Reporting:
    • Serving as the primary point of contact for operational concerns.
    • Liaising with school leadership, parents, and external stakeholders to address operational needs.
    • Preparing and presenting regular reports on operations, health, and safety to school management.
Qualifications and Experience:

A bachelor's degree in business administration, operations management, or a related field (preferred). At least three to five years of experience in health and safety, preferably in an educational environment. Certification in health and safety management (preferred), such as NEBOSH, IOSH, etc.
