An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Demi Chef de Partie role in the Main Kitchen team at Jumeirah Messilah Beach Hotel & Spa, Kuwait. This position is part of a multicultural environment where you will have the chance to work with international culinary teams and contribute to the success of the hotel's five-star service standards.



Main Responsibilities:



  • Assist colleagues in supporting culinary teams, enhance team spirit, develop credibility, respect, openness, and trust.

  • Train and develop culinary colleagues according to the monthly training plan, highlighting areas for fine-tuning and development that benefit the department.

  • Provide performance feedback and discuss areas for improvement and highlight strengths in the absence of the Sous Chef or Executive Sous Chef.

  • Inform and keep the Sous Chef or Executive Sous Chef up-to-date on challenges and irregularities, recommending courses of action.

  • Respond positively to changes in the departmental function as dictated by the industry, company, or hotel.

  • Interact with colleagues from other departments within areas of responsibility and develop solid working relationships with them.

  • Take full responsibility in the absence of the Sous Chef or Executive Sous Chef.

  • Maintain a complete understanding of the company's policy and procedures, recipes, preparation methods, and plating standards in your outlets and related food hygiene practices.

  • Liaise with the Stewarding Manager to ensure high standards of cleanliness are maintained in all kitchen areas.

  • Ensure operating and kitchen equipment is maintained to a good standard with minimal breakage.

  • Identify and request assistance if required before any breakdowns occur.

  • Supervise colleagues during set-up, service, and breakdown for each meal period.

  • Ensure accurate ordering, receiving, and storage of quality ingredients following FIFO rotation.

  • Prepare ingredients professionally in accordance with recipes, plating guides, and buffet setups, maximizing production time and minimizing waste.

  • Perform daily storeroom inspections of walk-in refrigerators and reach-ins to adhere to proper food rotation.

  • Contribute to developing a safe and clean working environment.



Requirements:



  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in Culinary roles in a five-star hotel.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work effectively in a multicultural environment.

  • Knowledge of HACCP and general health and safety practices in the workplace.

  • Solid International Culinary experience.



Benefits:

This role offers an attractive salary of approximately $45,000 - $60,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus generous F&B benefits and reduced hotel rates across our hotels globally.
