Job Summary

The Counseling Center Coordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting the daily operations of our department. This position is responsible for managing various administrative and planning activities, ensuring seamless execution of tasks, and fostering strong relationships with students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and assist students requesting accommodations or psychological support by explaining the services offered by the Counseling Center.
  • Carry out initial interviews with new students to assess their needs, utilizing questionnaires and structured interviews.
  • Redirect students to the appropriate counselor based on their needs, whether related to disabilities or mental health issues.
  • Manage incoming phone calls and emails, routing them effectively to the Counseling Center team.
  • Develop and maintain reports analyzing student service activities, providing valuable insights for departmental decision-making.
  • Communicate and coordinate various sections and activities within the Clinic and Art & Music Therapy Rooms.
  • Coordinate schedules and daily operations with the Director of the Counseling Center.
  • Create and modify documents, such as invoices, reports, memos, letters, and financial statements, using word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
  • Collaborate closely with members of the Division of Student Affairs and Academic Affairs, participating in events like Orientation, Awards Night, and Graduation.
  • Maintain inventory of Department supplies, reconciling purchase orders, and ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Plan and support staff in assigned project-based work and department events.
  • Manage Student Employees in the Counseling Center, overseeing the selection process and time-sheet maintenance.
  • Monitor and reconcile fiscal administration, including office budget, student labor, and purchasing.
  • Participate in University committees and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • One to two years of related experience in a college counseling center or a closely related function.
  • Experience working with college students addressing personal problems, interpersonal relationships, family, and social issues.
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, social and behavioral science, psychoeducation, social work, health management, or a related field.
