The role of the Product Range Manager is to provide strategic support to the Merchandising team in achieving retail objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Buyers to develop category plans aligned with Safat Home Strategy, focusing on sales, total stocks, intakes, commitment, customer availability, pricing, markdown, gross margin, and option count.
  • Manage critical path, launch, and exit dates in line with the integrated marketing calendar, driving speed to market.
  • Provide daily, weekly, and monthly stock and sales performance results, analysing commercial information to inform forward strategy.
  • Review sales performance against operating plans at category and range levels to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Optimise store space by considering store size, ranging, customer profile, and number of SKUs, as well as planogramming where applicable.
  • Deliver one best way of working through standardised reports and consistency across all categories.
  • Utilise relevant IT and POS systems to drive linked sales and new promotions.

Additionally, the Product Range Manager will:

  • Conduct analysis on ROI for previous events and promotions.
  • Review in-store cross-selling and re-merchandising accordingly.
  • Set store stock targets, manage daily STS to stores, initial allocations, adjustment of min/max levels, safety stocks, bulk sale stock allocation.
  • Work closely with the operations team to monitor and minimise stock write-off in season.
  • Be responsible for campaign/flyer stocks and final sign-off of stocks for promotional flyers.
  • Serve as a store contact for stock and pricing issues.
  • Manage Markdown Lists, Ministry lists, Store Promotional Sales Packs, Pricing lists, and POS requirements for sales and in-season promotions.
  • Maintain master product price files to ensure accurate product prices and promotions are live on the system.
  • Monitor stock ageing reports and develop action plans to improve sales or develop exit strategies.
  • Minimise the risk of cost of mark-downs to ensure profitability.
  • Manage core reorders in line with range/forecast plans.
  • Demonstrate awareness of market trends and utilise this knowledge in range building/cataloguing.
  • Identify in-season opportunities and work with Buyers/Planning to leverage the open-to-buy process to deliver additional sales.
  • Work closely with the Buyers to prepare seasonal intake/forecast plans to manage capacity/stocks with the supply base.
  • Prepare post-seasonal analysis at category/range/line level and SWOT analysis based on findings.
  • Support Buyer in reviewing supplier KPIs.
  • Communicate with stores/Buyers on out-of-stock situations and agree on actions accordingly.
  • Redistribute stock between stores when necessary.
  • Manage end-of-lines/oddments/last pieces out of warehouse and sold through in-store.
  • Track performance of new lines/launches.
