Public Safety Telecommunicator

This position requires strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work under pressure. As a call-taker telecommunicator, you will be responsible for receiving and processing emergency calls, dispatching emergency personnel, and providing medical pre-arrival instructions.
Responsibilities- Receive and process emergency calls, identifying the nature of the incident and dispatching appropriate personnel.
- Provide medical pre-arrival instructions to callers.
- Dispatch emergency personnel to critical response situations.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; one-year related experience may substitute for education.
- Must be CAC eligible or able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC).
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active Secret Clearance.
- Optional certifications include IFSAC or Proboard Hazmat Materials Awareness and Telecommunicator I-II.
- CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
- Willing to obtain Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) Certification within 30 days of hire.
- Light work involving exertion up to 20 pounds occasionally and 10 pounds frequently.
