Firing Chief Role Summary

This role involves providing assistance to the designated Fire Chief/Deputy Chief under broad direction and manages the administration of the training and safety program within the fire and emergency services department. The successful candidate will have experience in fire service management, with a strong understanding of current trends and developments related to fire service organization and administrative principles.

The responsibilities of this role include evaluating staff performance, coaching employees in their career development, managing FES Training programs, and performing fire ground/emergency management functions. Additionally, the successful candidate will be required to develop job performance requirements, lesson plans, training schedules, instructional methods, and evaluation instruments. They must also work closely with training officers and other department leaders to develop training programs to support fire department statement of work requirements.

This position requires excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
