Job Summary:
  • We are seeking a highly skilled Energy Downstream Portfolio Manager to oversee the downstream energy team workflow and work towards achieving departmental and origination goals.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Production and management of the energy downstream portfolio.
  • Ensure regular meetings with underwriting assistants to discuss energy matters.
  • Oversee team functioning, ensuring standards in work quality, attendance, and punctuality.
  • Counter sign email offers to brokers and slips/endorsements.
  • Support the Underwriter in premium income monitoring and aggregation reporting.
  • Agree on wordings from London market brokers.
  • Decline business not deemed suitable for Kuwait Re.
  • Maintain compliance with company guidelines on aggregations.
  • Negotiate with brokers and draft contracts.
  • Gather and assess background information to evaluate risks effectively.
  • Stay informed about technical factors and developments relevant to portfolio underwriting.
  • Assist in the development of underwriting systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of risks underwritten and decisions made.
  • Develop effective relationships with agents, brokers, and clients.
  • Attend market conferences and foster good working relationships.
