Job Overview
Maintenance engineers play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of facilities. The successful candidate will oversee all maintenance work at the mall premises, supervising maintenance contractors and promoting a safe working environment.

Main Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with facility managers on engineering tasks, facility operations, and maintenance to ensure seamless integration.
  • Assign maintenance tasks to contractors and sub-contractors according to operations and maintenance contracts, safety guidelines, and company policies to guarantee timely completion.
  • Evaluate contractor performance and monitor work quality to identify areas for improvement.
  • Supervise new projects related to mechanical and electrical works in property management to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance strategy to enhance the performance and experience of the maintenance team.
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions with external parties to secure favorable agreements.
  • Ensure fit-out works for new tenants are completed satisfactorily to meet customer expectations.
  • Resolve maintenance requests from tenants in a timely manner to maintain a positive relationship.
  • Enforce general safety and fire prevention regulations throughout the premises to prevent accidents.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Facilities Engineering is essential for success in this role.
  • At least 5 years of experience in facilities management or property operations is required to demonstrate expertise.
  • A strong understanding of building systems, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing is necessary for effective maintenance.
  • Proven ability to manage external contractors and service providers effectively to optimize resource allocation.
  • Experience in retail property management is highly valued due to its unique challenges.
  • Familiarity with safety standards, fire prevention regulations, and inspection protocols is crucial for maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with experience handling contracts and quotations are necessary for securing favorable agreements.
  • Strong organizational and leadership abilities are required to motivate and direct the maintenance team.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, with knowledge of CAFM systems an asset, is essential for efficient administration.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans is necessary for understanding complex maintenance tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for identifying and resolving issues promptly.
  • Fluency in English; Arabic language proficiency is an added advantage for communicating with diverse stakeholders.
