FMS-B Maintenance Manager

Overview

**This position will be physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP**

Manages the daily operation of Maintenance Department (MAINT) Field Maintenance Support (FMS) Buehring in support of the LOGCAP V Kuwait Program. The Maintenance Manager provides operational guidance and supervision to ensure compliance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS). Support capabilities include Production Control, Maintenance Sections (Wheel, Track, Armament/Small Arms, Heavy Equipment, Engineer & Special Purpose Equipment, HVAC, and Power Generation), Allied Trades and Locksmith.

Monitors Maintenance program production schedules and ensures all missions are executed on time and at the highest quality level possible.Maintains frequent contact with customers regarding Maintenance performance and overall customer satisfaction.Interfaces with customer contract personnel to ensure adherence to all contractual requirements.Coordinates staffing requirements and technical approach for all task orders solicitations in support of LOGCAP V cost proposal operations. Coordinates efforts to attain facilities and required infrastructure support for all task order off-site operations.Ensures that the responsibilities, authorities, and accountability of all direct subordinates are defined and understood.Ensures an operating environment which promotes and foster the principles of teamwork VBSS/Quality and a sound EHS culture.Conducts regularly scheduled reviews with assigned programs related to on-going operations, budgets, performance measurements, VBSS/Lean initiatives, customer satisfaction, contract compliance and forecast status to determine Maintenance area progress toward stated goals, objectives and requirements.Ensures that all assigned program activities and operations are carried out in compliance with Vectrus employee relations policies.Provides a safe and secure workplace.Sets the example for respect, responsibility and integrity.Provides reports on all life safety, quality, and maintenance issues.Performs routine inspections of all maintenance sections.Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications

• MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
  • High School Graduate required. Bachelors degree desired. 6-8 years of maintenance experience with 2-3 years in a management capacity of a similar project/ department/branch related to these functions of a Base Operations Support Services contract. A valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator's License and Kuwait Driver's License are required.
  • Must be Global Combat Support System Army (GCSS-A) Plant maintenance certified
• Experience:
  • 6-8 years in the management of maintenance programs. Specific experience in U.S. Army logistics management desirable. Must display behaviors which embrace the Leadership Competency model: Create the Future, Deliver Results, Build thru Teamwork, Inspire Commitment, and Lead with Character.
• Skills:
  • High-level organizational and planning skills, so that workflow is managed efficiently and accurately, with strong written and briefing skills, and capability to plan without much detailed guidance
  • Senior-level inter-personal skills with the ability to interact effectively with a large and multi-ethnic workforce
  • Energy and stamina that meets constant cycle of meetings and briefings; strong listing skills and ability to give detailed direction and guidance
  • Expert written and oral communications, must have high level of proficiency in the use of MS office suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and other related applications
  • Must have technical skills in the development and maintenance of quality programs with a strong customer orientation and focus.
• SUPERVISORY/BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Directly responsible to the Logistics Director and has overall responsibility for policies and procedures used in the performance of work
• WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
  • Normal work week is 48 hours. May be required to work additional hours as mission dictates. Must be on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to respond to emergency situations.
  • Primary work location will be Camp Buehring; will have operational responsibilities at additional locations within the ASG-KU area of responsibility. Work is generally conducted in a warehouse environment. However, duties may occasionally involve working outside with a potential exposure to extreme temperatures. Work may require heavy lifting up, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical or biological agents. Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices. Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.

  • Work could require lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical or biological agents.
