Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced fire prevention specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting inspections, maintaining documentation, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.

About the Role:

The fire prevention specialist will work closely with facility managers, fire wardens, and other stakeholders to identify potential fire hazards and implement strategies to mitigate them. The role will also involve participating in environmental safety and health programs, conducting training sessions, and assisting with fire investigations.

Key Responsibilities:

">
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify potential fire hazards and ensure compliance with regulations.">
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all inspections and testing activities.">
  • Participate in environmental safety and health programs to promote a safe working environment.">
  • Develop and deliver training programs for facility managers, fire wardens, and other stakeholders on fire prevention and safety.">
  • Assist with fire investigations as required under AR 420-1 specifications.">

Requirements:

">

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a minimum of 5 years' experience as a fire inspector or fire prevention specialist. You will also need to possess strong written and spoken communication skills, as well as general word processing and computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

">
  • Certification as a Plans Examiner">
  • Bachelor's degree in Fire Science">
  • Experience working with DPW and conducting final acceptance inspections on new construction and renovation projects">
  • Knowledge of occupancy classification types, fire hazards, and occupant load factors">
  • Familiarity with fire department mission and organization, safety requirements, and objectives">
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills">
  • Physical ability to lift up to 20 pounds and work in extreme temperatures">
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator's License and host nation Driver's License">

Working Conditions:
