Sales Manager Role

Abbott's Established Pharmaceutical Division is seeking a Private Market Sales Manager based in Kuwait. As a Sales Manager, you will maintain existing accounts in an assigned territory, act alone, and as a liaison for various sales specialists with accounts to increase Abbott's market penetration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Meet assigned sales targets at desirable market shares.
  • Provide direction to facilitate goal setting, monitor progress, measure results, reward incentive payments, and conduct performance appraisals.
  • Select, interview, and attract new recruits to the sales team.
  • Clear upside potential and lead sales forces through teams of supervisors.
  • Provide in-field coaching, follow-up training to support skill-based training, and develop subordinates for succession planning.
  • Conduct sales meetings to monitor progress, facilitate communication, provide representatives with a forum to network, and offer training.
  • Control and monitor implementation of sales strategies and tactics, providing feedback and market intelligence to the Marketing department.
  • Maintain contact with key accounts, identify opportunities for corporate marketing, and cultivate them as necessary.
  • Effectively communicate with all levels of staff via staff meetings, written communications, and one-on-one communication.
  • Interact and work with management/employees to promote teamwork.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislative requirements, policies, and procedures, serving as a role model to all employees by demonstrating full support of occupational health, safety, and environmental programs.
  • Identify and implement best practices and encourage innovation.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in medical sciences are a must.
  • 5-6 years of experience in the sales field of pharmaceuticals, including a minimum of 1 year in a managerial role with people management experience.
  • Fully aware and knowledgeable about key accounts and key stakeholders in Kuwait's private market.
  • Strong sales record.
