Role Overview

 

The Academic Recruitment Specialist plays a vital role in the Office of Admissions at American University of Kuwait. Reporting directly to the Director of Admissions, this position is responsible for coordinating all external student recruitment initiatives and prospect marketing efforts.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate schedules and daily operations with the Director of Admissions, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration across teams.
  • Develop relationships with prospective students, parents, high school counselors, and officials, fostering trust and credibility through personalized interactions.
  • Manage applicant data collection and entry into Banner, guaranteeing accuracy and integrity throughout the admissions process.
  • Identify suitable admission categories for applicants, ensuring they meet AUK's criteria and Private Universities Council requirements.
  • Generate admission letters and communication pieces using the Banner system, maintaining consistency and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Conduct Transfer Credit Evaluations for students transferring from institutions not accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education.
  • Responsible for identifying correct admission categories for all applicants and making decisions that align with AUK's standards and policies.
  • Collaborate closely with members of the Office of the Registrar and other departments to ensure alignment and efficient information sharing.

 

Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience with MS Office software and proficiency in integrated information systems are essential. Familiarity with college/university admissions or recruitment is preferred, along with the ability to work effectively as a team member with multicultural/multilingual populations.

 

Requirements:

  • Excellent spoken and written English and Arabic skills.
  • Ability to present information interactively and facilitate group interactions.
  • Capacity to work methodically and logically, prioritizing tasks and deadlines to complete projects efficiently.
  • Flexibility to adjust one's own behavior to be effective within and among groups and with individuals.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle required for occasional travel on behalf of AUK.

 

Working Conditions:

Duties are performed primarily in an office environment, requiring continuous desktop and laptop usage. Occasional evening and weekend work may be necessary, allowing for flexible scheduling to accommodate interruptions throughout the workday.
