Project Management Office (PMO) Director

At HOT ENGINEERING & CONSTRUCTION, we are seeking a highly skilled Project Management Office (PMO) Director to lead our project management initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining project management expectations, defining project guidelines and standards to ensure smooth project execution. This role will oversee business projects, ensuring timely completion within budget, and ensure team members uphold company standards throughout project development and execution. The PMO Director will report on project activities, problems, and requirements to executive management to align with business goals. Additionally, this role will serve as a project advisor to ensure project objectives and deliverables meet strategic initiatives. The PMO Director will promote and enforce best project management practices across the organization to improve performance and communication. This role will drive improvements through understanding core processes, including development, documentation, and training. The PMO Director will plan PMO projects, including timelines, budgets, tasks, and staff. This role will evaluate project costs and work progress, taking appropriate actions. The PMO Director will create project status reports for top management. This role will manage communication processes for projects to ensure adherence to guidelines. The PMO Director will collaborate with stakeholders to define, prioritize, and develop projects, coordinating with project managers to monitor ongoing projects. This role will write and deliver presentations, explaining complex processes to a non-technical audience. The PMO Director will compile presentations to summarize findings and recommendations for top management reviews. This role will partner with stakeholders to create and launch tactical and strategic implementation plans. The PMO Director will support the ERP evolution and drive project management service delivery excellence. This role will act as the point of contact for the PMO. The PMO Director will assist executive management in defining and implementing the strategy for portfolio management. This role will develop and implement PMO capabilities, including documented processes, tools, templates, and methodologies. The PMO Director will guard PMO processes, tools, templates, and checklists. This role will implement change management strategies for effective transitions to new systems and processes. The PMO Director will define, develop, and prioritize business projects with department managers and leadership. This role will create procedure and policy documents and guidelines. The PMO Director will identify global trends and define appropriate training. This role will plan and prepare for mid-year and year-end calibration exercises and monitor departmental KPIs. The PMO Director will establish performance standards and effective measurement tools. This role will assess and update monthly performance reports related to project progress and staff competency. The PMO Director will participate in all evaluation meetings. Departmental Management: The PMO Director will maintain the organizational structure for departments reporting to the position holder, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and alignment with business objectives. This role will promote inter-departmental communications and coordination through various committees. People Management: The PMO Director will liaise with HR to drive employee satisfaction initiatives and maintain high performance. This role will drive the performance management process to align employees with departmental goals. The ideal candidate will have a relevant degree (Bachelor's or Master's) in project management, engineering, MBA, computer science, or information technology. Licenses or certifications: CAPM, PMP, ITIL, CSM, CQIA, SPC4. Minimum 15 years of experience in project controls for contracting industry operations. The PMO Director will have extensive knowledge in project management, portfolio management, and systems development methodology. This role will have experience in cost control and contract management. The PMO Director will have the ability to lead transformational initiatives and manage PMO projects. This role will have experience with relevant systems and applications, including Share Point, MS Dynamics 365, Primavera, and BIM. The PMO Director will have strong analytical skills and the ability to manage relationships across functional groups. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills are required. Knowledge and Skills: The PMO Director will have knowledge of project management, planning, scheduling, cost controls, contracts management, and current industry developments. Understanding of safety rules and regulations is essential.
