Environmental, Health, Safety and Security Specialist

The role of an Environmental, Health, Safety and Security (EHS) Specialist is crucial in ensuring a safe and sustainable work environment.

This position requires a proactive approach to preventing incidents and providing technical assistance to ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and health regulations at international, federal, state, and company levels.

Responsibilities
  • Conversant with local and international EHS laws, codes, and regulations
  • Resource person for developing and administering a proactive prevention program for incidents
  • Provide technical support to ensure compliance with applicable EHS regulations
  • Implement the EHS activity plan and ensure activities are completed as scheduled
  • Assist with incident investigations and report compilation
  • Medical evacuations and respond to emergencies as required
  • Regularly inspect work areas to identify unsafe acts or conditions
  • Conduct compliance evaluations of equipment, structures, and work in progress to ensure adherence to regulatory standards
  • Observe work groups and provide guidance and coaching to personnel for safe work practices
  • Deliver and observe toolbox talks and Job Safety Analyses (JSA's)
Qualifications
  • Diploma or equivalent certification
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience
  • Maintain key competencies related to EHS functions
  • Experience with technical activities, including on and offshore operations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Exposure to incident investigation and analysis software is preferred
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
  • Apply knowledge and skills to standard and non-standard situations
  • Use best practices and knowledge of business issues to improve products or services
  • Proven experience in promoting teamwork, coaching, and guiding others
