Overview

This position is physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP.

Under supervision of the Allied Trades Supervisor, the Painter Lead will be responsible for performing painting tasks and supervising a small team engaged in painting activities. The Painter Lead ensures that supplies and materials are available and possesses knowledge of surface peculiarities and types of paint for various applications. Responsibilities include preparing surfaces, applying primer, paint, stain, and finishes using brushes, rollers, or sprayers. Work requires formal training or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities
  • Paints and reconditions surfaces
  • Prepares surfaces by removing old finishes, filling holes, and sanding
  • Applies paint using spray guns or brushes
  • Mixes colors and paint ingredients for proper consistency
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: One-year related experience may substitute for one year of education if required. Must be CAC eligible and/or able to obtain a CAC, be a U.S. citizen, hold a valid driver's license, and have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Experience

Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a painter, with rounded training or apprenticeship.

Skills
  • Knowledge of surface peculiarities and paint types
  • Preparation of surfaces for painting
  • Application of paint with various tools
  • Color mixing and paint ingredient knowledge
Working Conditions
  • Exposure to extreme cold and heat
  • Subject to noise and hazards such as moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, working at heights, and chemical exposure
Physical Requirements
  • Light work, exerting up to 20 pounds occasionally and 10 pounds frequently
