Under supervision of the Allied Trades Supervisor, the Painter Lead will be responsible for performing painting tasks and supervising a small group of employees engaged in painting activities. The Painter Lead is also responsible for ensuring that adequate supplies and materials are readily available. Work involves knowledge of surface peculiarities and types of paint required for different applications. Preparing surfaces to be painted by washing them, filling holes and cracks with putty, and sanding them until smooth. Applying primer and other sealers to paint surfaces to ensure that paint sticks to them. Applying paint, stain, and other finishes to paint surfaces using paintbrushes, rollers, or sprayers. Work requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.

• Paints and reconditions surfaces to be painted.
• Prepares surfaces for painting by removing old finishes or filling holes and cracks with putty or filler.
• Applies paint with spray gun or brush.
• Mixes colors, oils, white lead, and other paint ingredients to obtain proper color or consistency.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if a degree is required.

• Must be CAC eligible and/or able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC).
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• A valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator's License and host nation Driver's License are required.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Must provide a copy of the diploma.

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a painter, acquired through formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.

• Knowledge of surface peculiarities and types of paint required for different applications.
• Preparing surfaces for painting by washing, filling holes, and sanding until smooth.
• Applying paint with spray gun or brush.
• Mixing colors, oils, white lead, and other paint ingredients to obtain proper color or consistency.

• Exposure to extreme cold and heat, noise, hazards including proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, working on scaffolding, and chemical exposure.

• Light work, exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds frequently.
