Overview

This position is physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP. Oversees the movement, sorting, and distribution of mail for LOGCAP. Issues money orders and sells postage stamps. Performs a variety of detailed accounting duties in accordance with standard procedures with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities
  • Safeguard all mail.
  • Load/unload mail trucks, process all mail at APOs and JMMT, verify mail on incoming manifest, prepare outgoing manifest.
  • Separate accountable mail from ordinary mail.
  • Operate x-ray machine if available, for suspicious mail.
  • Sort mail by authorized APOs or units, process insured, certified, and service mail.
  • Conduct unit mail call, distribute mail, and ensure proper signatures for custody.
  • Handle damaged or opened mail appropriately.
  • Use routing instructions to forward mail correctly.
  • Manage postal supplies, stocks, inventory, and ordering.
  • Retrieve outgoing mail, stamp, and consolidate for dispatch.
  • Operate postal software to provide services.
  • Assist customers, explain postal services.
  • Inspect parcels for non-mailable items.
  • Perform closeout procedures for outgoing mail.
  • Ensure security of mail and facilities.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; one-year related experience may substitute.
  • Valid Passport.
  • Driver's license preferred; ability to obtain USG access and police clearance.
  • Experience in postal or logistics fields preferred.
  • Basic computer skills, knowledge of postal procedures, supervisory abilities.
  • Ability to work outdoors, lift heavy weights, and adhere to safety protocols.
