Accountant - Accounts Payable/Receivable

Purpose and Scope of the Job: Responsible for providing financial and administrative clerical duties related to hospital utilities and services, ensuring accurate and timely processing of hospital financial transactions. Performs office support and secretarial duties under supervision for a specific unit or department.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain and update general and standard journal entries.
  2. Review and process routine accounting data.
  3. Prepare paperwork for accounts payable/receivable, cost reimbursement, and other billings; develop and maintain supporting worksheets.
  4. Reconcile accounts and allocate collections received from customers or insurance companies.
  5. Coordinate with insurance companies and collect related financial information.
  6. Assist in the yearly external audit process.
  7. Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
  8. Ensure safety standards (occupational and patient safety) are followed.
  9. Promote quality and patient safety practices, providing people-centered and equitable care.

Qualifications, Competencies, and Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Commerce or equivalent.
  • Experience: 2-3 years in related roles.
  • Language: Proficiency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
  • Computer Skills: Good proficiency in computer applications.
  • Performance Competencies:
    • Maintain confidentiality of records and information.
    • Follow instructions and communicate effectively.
    • Perform basic accounting procedures and record maintenance.
    • Knowledge from certification in accounting/bookkeeping with relevant experience.
