Director Private Equity

SANAM is a regional alternative investment firm established in 1982 and listed on the Kuwait Exchange Market in 2004, with a current issued and paid-up capital of KWD 10.5 million. The firm adopted a transformational plan in 2022 towards responsible investing and currently manages various platforms across multiple asset classes, including real estate, private equity, venture capital, medical, and education. To support its growth strategy, SANAM is seeking to hire a Senior Private Equity Professional to join its team.

The Senior Associate/Director will be involved in all aspects of the firm's investment activities, such as analyzing and screening new opportunities, developing deal-specific investment theses, researching industries and companies, performing valuations, developing financial models, assisting in financing processes, and conducting due diligence activities. As part of a small team, the individual will actively participate in all Investment Committee and portfolio company Board meetings. Additionally, the Senior Associate will evaluate, formulate, and implement transformative value creation strategies for portfolio companies with support from seasoned operating experts. This position will work closely with senior management but will enjoy a high degree of autonomy.

Candidates should possess the following attributes:

Experience

Strong undergraduate academic record (preferably in finance or accounting); CFA certification is a plus. 4 to 8 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, leveraged finance, management consulting, corporate development, or transaction services, with prior transaction execution experience.

Skills
  • Strong financial accounting and modeling skills, capable of modeling acquisition candidates and performing related financial analyses.
  • Knowledge of corporate finance concepts such as valuation and risk/return dynamics.
  • Experience working in Kuwait and/or the GCC region.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Capacity to identify underlying problems, interpret trends, and synthesize large information into logical, concise solutions.
