Role & responsibilities

  • Procurement Planning & Execution:
  • Identify project requirements for electrical equipment, materials, and services.
  • Prepare procurement plans, including timelines, budgets, and sourcing strategies.
  • Develop RFQs, RFPs, and tenders for suppliers and contractors.
  • Evaluate supplier quotations and negotiate commercial terms, ensuring competitive pricing.
  • Vendor Management:
  • Identify, qualify, and maintain a database of reliable suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Resolve issues related to supply delays, quality, or disputes.
  • Technical & Quality Compliance:
  • Review technical specifications, datasheets, and drawings to ensure correct procurement of materials and equipment.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams to confirm technical compliance of procured items.
  • Ensure materials comply with applicable standards (IEC, ANSI, IEEE, or local standards).
  • Documentation & Reporting:
  • Prepare purchase orders, contracts, and related procurement documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, approvals, and supplier correspondence.
  • Provide regular reports on procurement status, costs, and material availability to project management.
  • Coordination & Logistics:
  • Coordinate with logistics teams for timely delivery to site.
  • Track inventory, manage material lead times, and avoid project delays.
  • Ensure proper storage, handling, and documentation of procured items.
  • Cost Control & Risk Management:
  • Monitor procurement budgets and ensure cost optimization.
  • Identify procurement risks and propose mitigation strategies.

Preferred candidate profile

The candidates engineering college, including the relevant subject/department, must be listed in the NBA (National Board of Accreditation) to be eligible for membership with the Kuwait Society of Engineers (KSE). It is mandatory requirement.
