
Administrative Support Team Member

This position supports LOGCAP efforts in Kuwait and reports to the Patient Administration Supervisor. The selected candidate will oversee patient registration, administrative tasks, filing, and medical customer service.
Primary Responsibilities- Registers eligible patients by collecting and validating demographic information through patient interactions and database entry.
- Schedules appointments with healthcare providers, often requiring direct coordination with medical professionals.
- Maintains accurate and confidential military personnel medical/dental records according to regulatory guidelines.
- Supports new staff members in mastering procedures and protocols.
- Liaises with designated USG representatives and contractor teams to guarantee operational efficiency and adherence to regulations.
- Daily pre-departure briefings inform patients about local customs and etiquette.
- Promotes excellent customer service across all USAHC patients.
- Collaborates closely with clinic staff and supervisors.
- Flexibility in work schedule, overtime, and assignments is required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Vacation scheduling may align with mission requirements and potentially differ from spouse schedules if applicable.
- Completes additional tasks as directed by Health Services Management.
- Education/Certifications: A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Relevant coursework in medical administration or healthcare management is advantageous. Experience can substitute for educational requirements.
- Within 30 days after hire, AHIP certification from an online source is mandatory.
- Valid driver's license and ability to obtain Kuwait and U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator's Licenses are needed.
- Maintain NAC-I clearance.
- Maintain USG Network access and Smart card privileges.
- Experience:
- Training or relevant work in medical reception, administrative roles, or other medical fields for two years is necessary.
- At least two years of medical work experience are required.
- Two years of progressive experience demonstrating problem-solving capabilities and adaptability in medical environments is ideal.
- Minimum two years of customer service experience.
- Familiarity with the Privacy Act of 1974 and HIPAA is necessary.
- Skills:
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
- Independence and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Basic organizational and analytical skills for efficient workflow.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Data analysis and interpretation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive company information.
- Working Conditions:
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures exceeding 120°F.
- Varying indoor and outdoor environments with extreme conditions.
- Industrial production setting involvement.
- Physical Requirements:
- Light work involving occasional exertion of 20 pounds, frequent exertion of 10 pounds, and constant exertion of 10 pounds.
- Work may involve heavy lifting, bending, climbing, prolonged standing, and exposure to hazardous substances.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) usage required for certain situations.
- Compliance with fire and safety regulations and post policies.
