Job Title: Executive Pastry Chef

Job Description:

The Executive Pastry Chef is responsible for overseeing the overall culinary direction and operations of the pastry department. He/She must maintain high standards of quality, consistency, and presentation in all pastry products.

The successful candidate will be responsible for allocating resources, executing controls, training and developing kitchen staff, systemizing daily functioning, and maintaining efficient operations in the pastry department.

  • Directly responsible for implementing food/quality standards and overseeing all pastry operations
  • Responsible for managing all pastry functions including product purchasing, preparation, and maintenance of quality standards; sanitation and cleanliness
  • The Executive Pastry Chef must assist in designing and planning new menus, keeping in mind market trends and consumer preferences
  • Manage and maintain kitchen specifications, cooking procedure sheets, and build-up and spread sheets
  • Develop all necessary manuals in liaison with the operations team
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Strong customer focus, people management, leadership, and fostering teamwork are essential skills required for this role. The ideal candidate should also have strong knowledge of pastry methods, equipment, and best practices.

  • Experience in similar role, preferably in a senior position
  • Minimum 6 years experience in the industry
  • Good understanding of MS Office and restaurant software programs
  • Ability to motivate and lead a team from the front
