Job Overview

Wood is seeking an experienced Project Director to lead the delivery of engineering projects in Kuwait. This role involves creating delivery excellence, ensuring quality, schedule, and cost targets are met, and managing associated risk.

Main Responsibilities:
  • P&L responsibility with commercial and financial accountability, including revenue delivery, margin management, budgeting, forecasting, risk assessment, and cost control.
  • Contribute to project proposal and plan development, determining timeframe, procedures, staffing requirements, and resource allocation.
  • Negotiate changes to project scope or specification with customers, following change management processes.
  • Establish project procedures, lead production of project execution plans, and manage information management systems.
  • Report project progress to senior management and customers, ensuring delivery of agreed schedules and financial performance.
  • Lead a multidiscipline project team, promoting performance improvement culture, and facilitating setup of information management systems.
  • Oversee proposals and call-offs within delegation of authority, ensuring compliance with contracting policy and standards of ethical conduct.
Requirements:
  • University degree in relevant discipline.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Associate in Project Management (APM), or equivalent certification.
  • More than 15 years of pertinent experience, including 5-10 years of project management experience, with a good understanding of business issues.
  • Thorough understanding of project management techniques, practices, industry, and company risk management processes.
  • Able to use common estimating techniques, deliver effective project initiation, and produce project execution plans.
