**Job Summary:**

We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to oversee our kitchen operations and lead a team of culinary professionals.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for directing the preparation, seasoning, and cooking of salads, soups, vegetables, or other foods, planning and pricing menu items, ordering supplies, and maintaining records and accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Direct the preparation, seasoning, and cooking of salads, soups, vegetables, or other foods.
  2. Plan and price menu items, order supplies, and maintain records and accounts.
  3. Supervise and participate in cooking, baking, and the preparation of foods.
  4. Check all purchased supplies for quality and account for each delivered item.
  5. Menu planning, menu development, cost-effective budgeting, and hygiene maintenance.
  6. Monitor quality standards of products in the cafe with team members, taking corrective action when necessary.
  7. Establish, implement, and control performance to achieve the highest possible hygiene standards.
  8. Minimize operating equipment breakage and streamline efficient resource and equipment flow.
  9. Be demanding and critical regarding food quality and service standards.
  10. Prepare and regularly update the food and beverage production budget, ensuring targets are met and costs are effectively controlled.
  11. Motivate and develop a positive culinary team.
  12. Ensure all kitchens are managed efficiently according to established concept statements and brand standards.

Candidate Requirements:

  1. 2+ years of experience as an Executive Chef/Sous Chef in Continental cuisine, including Italian, Mexican, and Mediterranean cuisine.
  2. Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  3. Excellent record of kitchen and staff management.
  4. Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions.
  5. Familiar with industry best practices.
  6. A degree in Culinary Science or a related certificate would be a plus.
