Chef Job Description

This role involves overseeing kitchen operations, managing staff, and ensuring high-quality food is served. Key responsibilities include:

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Leading kitchen staff in food preparation and cooking activities.
  2. Managing kitchen inventory, ordering supplies, and maintaining records.
  3. Participating in cooking, baking, and food preparation tasks.
  4. Evaluating purchased supplies for quality and accuracy.
  5. Developing and implementing effective menu planning, budgeting, and hygiene protocols.
  6. Collaborating with team members to maintain quality standards.
  7. Enforcing performance standards to achieve exceptional hygiene levels.
  8. Monitoring and improving food quality and service standards.
  9. Preparing and updating food production budgets to control costs.
Candidate Requirements:
  1. Minimum 2+ years of experience as an Executive Chef or Sous Chef in Continental cuisine.
  2. Expert knowledge of cooking methods, ingredients, and equipment.
  3. Proven track record of effective kitchen and staff management.
  4. Excellent problem-solving skills in emergency situations.
  5. Familiarity with industry best practices and standards.
  6. Bachelor's degree in Culinary Science or related field is preferred.
