As a Safety and Security Officer, you will play a vital role in enforcing safety policies, monitoring potential risks, and responding effectively to emergencies.

Job Responsibilities
  • Monitor and patrol premises to detect and prevent security breaches, ensuring the well-being of everyone on campus.
  • Implement and enforce safety and security policies and procedures, fostering a culture of compliance and responsibility.
  • Conduct regular surveys of premises, monitor gates, and respond promptly to alarms, maintaining the highest standards of security.
  • Perform risk assessments and recommend corrective actions to minimize potential threats and ensure a secure environment.
  • Respond swiftly and effectively to emergencies, such as fires, medical incidents, or security threats, prioritizing the safety of everyone involved.

Maintain accurate records of incidents, inspections, and safety violations, providing valuable insights for continuous improvement.

Collaborate with law enforcement or emergency services as needed, leveraging external expertise to enhance campus safety and security.

This is a shift-based role, requiring flexibility and adaptability, including nights and weekends. You may work indoors or outdoors, depending on your assignments.

Qualifications
  • Educational Background: High school diploma or equivalent, with a degree or certification in occupational safety, security management, or a related field being preferred.
  • Training: Completion of security officer training programs, demonstrating your commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with safety standards and emergency protocols, enabling you to make informed decisions in high-pressure situations.
  • Licenses: First Aid/CPR certification is preferred, showcasing your dedication to caring for others.

Relevant experience in security, safety, or emergency response is essential, alongside strong communication, observation, and problem-solving abilities.

You should be proficient in security systems and equipment, such as alarms and fire panels, and possess physical fitness and the ability to handle emergencies.

A clean criminal record and professional integrity are non-negotiable, reflecting your commitment to upholding the highest standards of behavior.
