Job Description

NATO is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to serve as an Officer at the NATO-ICI Regional Centre in Kuwait. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading partnership and cooperation efforts between NATO and countries in the Middle East and Africa.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill the role of Officer at the NATO-ICI Regional Centre in Kuwait. The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the development and implementation of events, courses, and other activities at the Centre. They will work closely with Kuwaiti colleagues to plan and conduct activities, assist in the organisation of visits of delegations and mobile training teams, and contribute to the preparation of information to be shared with relevant NATO committees.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have the following key responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of events, courses, and other activities at the Centre;
  • Work closely with Kuwaiti colleagues to plan and conduct activities;
  • Assist in the organisation of visits of delegations and mobile training teams;
  • Contribute to the preparation of information to be shared with relevant NATO committees;
  • Support the smooth running of all processes and procedures at the NATO Office.


Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications and experience:
  • University degree from an institute of recognised standing in a field such as political science, international relations, security studies, or regional studies;
  • At least 2 years of related professional experience in or on the Middle East in diplomacy, development, or defence and security matters;
  • Very good knowledge and understanding of MENA countries, especially those participating in the ICI;
  • Ability to create own measures of excellence and improving performance;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Excellent analytical and drafting skills in one of the two official NATO languages;
  • Valid driving license (B);
  • Minimum levels of NATO's official languages (English/French): V ('Advanced') in one; I ('Beginner') in the other;
  • Very good knowledge of oral and written Modern Standard Arabic (MSA).
