Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will have the following responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice on business operations, contracting, due diligence, litigation, and other related matters.
  • Liaise with stakeholders, regulatory bodies, semi-governmental and governmental authorities as required.
  • Prepare and review litigation briefs, police reports, and court documents.
  • Attend police and/or court proceedings to represent the company's interests.
  • Assist in preparation and review of defence synopsis and necessary documentation on cases launched by or against the company.
  • Participate in negotiations with reporting managers and third parties for concluding business transactions.
  • Prepare legal notices, responses, and other type of correspondence.
  • Prepare and assist in drafting petitions and memorandum of defences.
  • Assist in corporate legal affairs such as company registration, renewal matters, and safekeeping of company records.
  • Undertake additional tasks to support the company in achieving its business plan as required.
  • Follow up with case laws and executive orders with external law firms.
  • Take all necessary steps to prepare power of attorney documents and attestation of company contracts.
  • Provide any legal assistance required by the company during the GSM process.
  • Draft and review contracts, letters, notices, and other legal documentation in coordination with reporting managers.
  • Draft renewals/amendments of contracts.
  • Provide legal advice and opinions to user departments on different matters in coordination with reporting managers.
  • Monitor and follow up with legal service providers on the legal status of outsourced cases or any other related matters.
  • Defend the company in case of legal disputes.
  • Ensure all communication by external legal service providers is in writing and filed appropriately in the respective case file maintained by the department.
  • Ensure business operations of the company and its services are legally valid transactions and comply with applicable laws in force.
