Overview

V2X Inc is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Data Center Engineer to join our team. As a Cloud Data Center Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting the enterprise virtual infrastructure for all sites within the RCC-SWA Area of Responsibility. Your responsibilities will include optimizing, administering, and providing technical documentation for the enterprise virtual infrastructure.

You will resolve enterprise-level change requests and act as the top-level of support escalation for all enterprise virtualization support issues. Principal technical areas include VMware, Net App, Cisco UCS, Microsoft Servers, and related virtualization, storage, networking, and monitoring technologies.

This position offers company-paid housing and transportation, a completion bonus, and tuition reimbursement program. You must satisfy all host country requirements to legally work in the host country to be qualified for this position.

Responsibilities:
  • Enterprise-level support for VMware virtualization technologies including VMware ESXi, v Center, v COPS, v Realize, and SRM.
  • Top-tier support for escalated issues and complex projects.
  • Daily monitoring of all enterprise virtualization for integrity, reliability, resource utilization, and availability.
  • Periodic reports on virtual resource capacity and utilization as well as system uptime, performance, and troubleshooting/MTTR.
  • Log review and issue reporting related to monitoring of temperature and overall virtualization health throughout the RCC-SWA AOR.
  • Experienced with configuration and provisioning of VMs, ESXi hosts, and VCSAs.
  • Proficient in the planning, installation, configuration, and upgrades of the virtual network infrastructure.
  • The top-tier of support for virtualization projects and solutions related to backup, disaster recovery, virtual networking, HA, performance monitoring, firmware/software upgrades, and system audit tasks.
  • Documentation for Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) for configuring and managing the virtual environment including virtual networking, physical hosts, VMs, access control, resource monitoring and management, HA, fault tolerance, and scalable virtualization infrastructure.
  • The work environment will be 95% indoors and 5% outdoors.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience preferably in Computer Science or MIS, IS, Engineering, or related field.
  • Candidates must adhere to Do D 8570.01. All candidates are required to maintain at least one baseline certification and one computing environment (CE) certification.
  • Authorized certifications for this job title include IAT Level: IAT III, BASELINE: Cisco CCNP Security, Comp TIA CASP+, GIAC GCED, GIAC GCIH, ISACA CISA, ISC2 CISSP, COMPUTING ENVIRONMENT (CE): CNFDS, CNFIAS, Net App NCDA, Net App NCHCA, Net App NCIE, Net App NCIE-DPS, Net App NCIE-O-S, Net App NCIE-SAN, Net App NCIE-SS, Net App NCSE, Net App NCSIE, VMware VCAP-DCV, VMware VCDE, VMware VCDX-DCV, VMware VCP.
  • At least five years of practical experience working with various data (network and system) technologies.
  • Candidates must have a working knowledge of server, storage, and desktop virtualization technologies.
  • Experience with v Sphere client, ESXCLI, and Power CLI is a must.
  • Must have virtualization configuration and administration experience and understands VMware v Sphere 6.0 and 6.5 technologies.
  • Experienced with Cisco UCS management, C-series, and B-series servers. Experienced with regular virtualization capacity planning and reporting.
