We are seeking a skilled Cost Analyst II to join our team as a Cost and Estimating Engineer. This role requires expertise in cost estimation, project management, and leadership.

About the Role:

This is a challenging opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead a small estimating organization, providing guidance and direction to team members. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for complex projects by analyzing plans, drawings, and specifications. They will also develop procedures for estimating modifications and additions to facilities, ensuring accuracy and consistency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Detailed Cost Estimates: Develop accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for complex projects.
  • Estimate Modifications and Additions: Create procedures for estimating changes to existing facilities.
  • Supervise Estimating Team: Lead and mentor a team of estimators, reviewing their work for accuracy and completeness.
  • Validate and Verify Estimates: Ensure estimates meet industry standards and best practices.
  • Improve Estimating Process: Continuously monitor and improve the estimating process to increase efficiency and quality.
  • Develop Staff: Train, develop, and maintain a staff of qualified estimators.
  • Assign Tasks: Assign estimating personnel to projects, supervising their activities and reviewing their work.
  • Review Contractual Documents: Analyze contractual documents to determine scope of work and changes.
  • Assist Project Management: Collaborate with project managers on scheduling estimate preparation, review, and publication.
  • Develop Best Practices: Contribute to the development of company-wide best practices.
  • Maintain Current Standards: Stay up-to-date with the latest estimating standards and databases.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree: A degree in engineering or a related field is required.
  • Proven Track Record: A proven track record in cost estimation and civil construction or similar projects is essential.
