We're looking for an experienced Senior Transportation/Highway Engineer who is passionate about designing safe and efficient transportation systems. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead projects from start to finish, collaborate with stakeholders, and provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff members.

About the Position

  • Develop plans, designs, and specifications for transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Liaise with stakeholders, including government agencies and private sector clients, to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff members, helping them develop their skills and expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and direct engineering projects related to transportation infrastructure.
  • Mentor junior engineers and staff members in the transportation market.
  • Promote the reputation of the company through technical expertise and external engagement.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously for NDDOT, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil engineering is required.
  • At least 8 years of relevant work experience is necessary, with a proven track record of success in transportation engineering.
  • A PE license in North Dakota or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with NDOT on rural and urban roadway design and interchanges.
  • Expertise in designing roundabouts or diverging diamond intersections.
  • Previous experience marketing and attracting clients to win work for the company.
