Medical Specialist

To provide specialized medical services for the diagnosis and management of diseases under the scope of care of the related specialty.
Key Responsibilities:
- To act under the supervision of Neurology Consultants in providing a Neurology service and supporting Neurology Consultants/specialists in their duties.
- To assess patients from the Emergency Department and report unusual findings, complications, or alterations in the management plan to Specialists or Consultants.
- To attend daily ward rounds with the Neurology team and review patients on a regular basis in accordance with the plan of care made by the attending consultant.
- To document reviewed findings in clinical notes in a timely and legible manner and cover Operating Room duties as assigned.
- To discharge patients on consultants' instructions and write discharge summaries, respond to adverse occurrences, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
- To adhere to Hospital Policies and Procedures and undertake other duties that may be required, including assisting medical colleagues throughout the hospital.
- To participate in Registrar on-call Rota and provide cover in exceptional circumstances for colleagues' absence.
Requirements:
A minimum of 1 year Post-Masters experience is required, with desirable experience being 3 years post-obtaining the highest degree. Applicants must possess a Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and a master's degree in the Specialty, all obtained from Universities approved by the Ministry of Higher Education in Kuwait.
