A logistics manager is responsible for leading and managing the supply chain, operations, procurement, and warehousing functions to ensure efficient, cost-effective operations while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.

This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and a hands-on approach to problem-solving, as well as the ability to analyze supply chain processes and identify opportunities for improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute logistics strategies to ensure timely delivery, inventory optimization, and operational excellence.
  • Coordinate with logistics partners to optimize transportation routes and ensure timely delivery.
  • Negotiate with vendors to secure favorable pricing, quality, and delivery terms.

Purchasing/Procurement

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies to ensure timely availability of goods and materials.
  • Monitor vendor performance and build strong relationships.
  • Implement inventory control methods such as FIFO, LIFO, or JIT (Just-in-Time).

Warehouse Management

  • Oversee warehouse operations, including inventory control, stock management, and space optimization.
  • Implement safety standards, quality checks, and compliance within the warehouse.
  • Leverage warehouse management systems to track inventory flow and improve accuracy.

Inventory Management

  • Maintain accurate inventory records, reduce waste, and minimize stock-outs.
  • Analyze demand trends to forecast needs and optimize stock levels.
  • Provide training, ensure adherence to company policies, and promote a culture of safety.

Team Management

  • Lead and supervise teams across logistics, procurement, and warehousing functions.
  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and evaluate team performance.
  • Prepare detailed reports on logistics performance, costs, risks, and opportunities.

Cost Control and Budgeting

  • Manage budgets for logistics, procurement, and warehousing operations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve profitability.
  • Optimize processes to ensure effective resource utilization.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in logistics, warehousing, procurement, or supply chain roles.
  • Proven leadership experience overseeing teams and managing projects.
  • Proficiency in supply chain software and reporting tools.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and ERP tools.
