The Role of a Room Service Attendant

  • Provide personalized service to patients, families and visitors, ensuring a warm and caring atmosphere in our establishment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Serve food and beverages to patients, family members and visitors daily for all meals, including menu management, kitchen communication and table setting.
  • Accurately communicate patients' and companions' dietary preferences, allergies and dislikes to the kitchen staff to ensure compliance.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of Royal & Imperial Rooms amenities after each discharge.
  • Clean and sanitize food and beverage service utensils after patient or family use and room discharge.
  • Ensure timely delivery of complementary services to patient rooms.
  • Respond promptly, professionally and appropriately to patient/family perceptions of and needs for care and services.
  • Respond to requests for information promptly and refer concerns to relevant hospital personnel immediately.
  • Act swiftly and take ownership of guest complaints.
  • Communicate patients' needs for assistance to nurses to prevent accidents or transport non-ambulatory patients using wheelchairs.
  • Manage food and beverage services for special hospital or patient events.
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards (occupational and patient safety).
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties assigned by the Direct Reporting Authority.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily works inside patient rooms.
  • During patient parties, the environment may be crowded with guests.
  • Ensures quality and patient safety practices are followed.
  • Provides people-centered care.
  • Promotes inclusive health by providing equitable and accessible care to patients and families with special needs.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma as minimum educational requirement.
  • Food and Beverage service training is an asset.
  • Minimum one year experience in food and beverage service field or hotel background.
  • Good command of English language, Arabic proficiency is a plus.
  • Basic computer skills.
