Spill Response Team Lead Position

This role is a crucial part of protecting the people and property of the US Government during emergency situations.

  • Responsibilities include assisting the Kuwait Fire Department, overseeing hazardous materials and biological cleanup, inspecting Above Ground Storage Tanks, and conducting environmental impact assessments.
  • The successful candidate will have experience in the Environmental/Safety field, preferably in spill response, and knowledge of ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS) and pertinent regulations related to Above Ground Storage Tanks.

This position requires excellent organization and communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience facilitating classroom and scenario-based training.

The ideal candidate will be capable of working in extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit and must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.

About the Job
  • Driving required/responds to spills of hazardous materials, blackwater spills, assessing areas for environmental impacts, submitting and writing reports.
  • Takes the lead for Hazardous Waste Section on all issues pertaining to Quality and Safety.
  • Assist in development of Environmental, Plans, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs) pertaining to Spill Control Management.
  • Overseas POL contaminated soil remediation/landfarming.
  • Ensures all Above Ground Storage Tanks are inspected on a routine basis and provides oversight of the process.
