As a Tactical Satellite Communication Specialist, you play a vital role in supporting the communication needs of various organizations. This is a highly technical position that requires expertise in satellite communication systems, network configuration, and COMSEC integration.

About this Role
  • Operate and maintain satellite modems, cables, interconnects, LNB, IF cable, antenna, antenna motors, SSPA, ACU, cabling, and UPS to ensure seamless communication.
  • Familiarity with Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) such as power meter, spectrum analyzer, firebird, voltmeter, and other equipment.
  • Understand LAN/WAN Communications, including network hardware, routing protocols, Cisco routers, Ethernet switches, bridges, gateways, firewalls, RIP, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPLS, MLA VPN, Wireless, Riverbed, and Call Manager Express.
  • Configure and integrate COMSEC equipment into tactical SATCOM systems.

This role also involves providing training on tactical SATCOM equipment and ensuring the security of communication systems.

To succeed in this role, you must have experience in communications electronic systems or equipment support, repair, or maintenance. You should be able to operate in a tactical environment with antenna controllers, SSPA, LNB, fiber optic/coax/ethernet cable, FDMA, and TDMA modems. A Bachelor's degree in engineering or 4-6 years military experience in a related field with advanced commercial certification instead of education is required.
