Job Title: SATCOM Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Support

Job Description:
  • Operate and maintain satellite communication systems, including antenna controllers, solid-state power amplifiers, low noise amplifiers, up and down converters, fiber optic/coax/ethernet cable, frequency division multiple access (FDMA) and time division multiple access (TDMA) modems, and modem hub operations.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot using test measurement and diagnostic equipment (TMDE), such as power meters, spectrum analyzers, firebirds, and voltmeters.
  • Manage and maintain telecommunication installation supplies and daily on-hand inventories.
  • Operate and maintain satellite radios and related systems.

This position requires a strong understanding of satellite communications, electronics, and telecommunications systems. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in electronics or a related field.
  • Minimum two years of experience in support of installations, repair, troubleshooting, or maintenance of satellite communications electronic systems or equipment.
  • Must possess experience and skill with commercial and military satellite and commercial TDMA/FDMA modems.
  • Candidate shall have knowledge of tactical and commercial satellite communication equipment.
  • Must possess experience and skills in the operation of satellite modems, redundancy switch, associated cables and interconnects, up converters, down converters, high-power amplifiers (HPAs), LNAs/LNBs, waveguide joints and connections, intermediate frequency (IF) cable and connections, antenna, antenna motors, SSPA, ACU, and associated cabling and interconnects, HVAC units, UPS, and generators.
  • Candidate shall possess technical documentation skills related to SAR, GAR, TSR, and ASI.
  • Must possess knowledge and work experience with the use of TMDE tools, power meter, spectrum analyzer, firebird, voltmeter, etc.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
