**Job Title:** Lock Mechanic

The Lock Mechanic will be responsible for installing, repairing, modifying, and opening a variety of locking mechanisms found on doors, desks, compartments, mobile equipment, safes, and vaults. This role requires examining locking mechanisms and making necessary adjustments or replacements as needed.

**Responsibilities:**
  • Provide maintenance and repairs on various types of safes using hand tools, lathes, drill presses, and welding with cutting apparatus.
  • Install and repair locks, including mechanical and electronic cipher locks.
  • Evaluate customer requests and ensure all customers are approved by the relevant authorities prior to accepting work orders.
  • Insert new or repaired tumblers into locks to change combinations.
  • Train customers on how to set their own combinations.
  • Disassemble mechanical or electrical locking devices, repair or replace worn parts using hand tools.

**Qualifications:**
  • Education/Certifications:
    • A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A valid driver's license and ability to obtain a host nation driver's license is also required.
    • A minimum of four years of experience as a locksmith is preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential for this role.
    • Able to manage multiple priorities when making decisions related to security and safety concerns.
    • Able to communicate effectively with diverse groups of people.
  • Skills:
    • Knowledge of lock picking devices, code cutting devices, hand/power tools, and key machines is required.
    • Able to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace and follow safety rules.

    **Working Conditions:**
    This role may require working in extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit. The work environment can be challenging, with hot, dry, duty, desert conditions.
