  • This position will be located in support of LOGCAP operations in Kuwait. The Locksmith Senior reports to the Carpenter Lead and/or Trade Shop Supervisor.

The Locksmith Senior installs, repairs, modifies, and opens various locking mechanisms on doors, desks, compartments, mobile equipment, safes, and vaults. This includes examining the locking mechanism, installing a new unit, disassembling the unit to replace worn tumblers, springs, and other parts, or repairing them by filing, drilling, chiseling, and grinding.

The Locksmith Senior also makes new or duplicate keys using key cutting machines, changes combinations by inserting new or repaired tumblers into locks, and establishes keying systems for buildings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cuts new or duplicate keys using key cutting machines.
  • Opens safes using drilling or manipulation techniques.
  • Installs new or repaired tumblers into locks to change safe combinations.
  • Opens locked doors without working keys using lock picks.
  • Disassembles mechanical or electrical locking devices; repairs or replaces worn tumblers, springs, and other parts.
  • Repairs and adjusts safes, vault doors, and vault components.
