Job Title: Mechanic - Land Rigs

We are seeking an experienced Mechanic to join our team at an International Onshore drilling company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment, including engines, pumps, compressors, generators, and hydraulic systems.
  • Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: Diagnose mechanical issues and faults, and carry out repairs or replace faulty components as necessary.
  • Equipment Optimization: Ensure all mechanical systems are operating at peak efficiency and reliability.
  • Maintenance Scheduling: Develop and implement maintenance schedules, strategies, and procedures to optimize equipment performance and reliability.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize downtime.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical expertise and mentorship to junior mechanics.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and protocols.
Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional technical or vocational training in mechanical engineering, diesel mechanics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Experience of 3+ years as a Mechanic with land-based drilling rigs and familiarity with rig-specific mechanical systems is highly desirable.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Relevant mechanical certifications or licenses.
  • Safety Certifications: Safety certifications (e.g., H2S, First Aid, Firefighting) are advantageous.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of onshore oil and gas equipment, including pumps, compressors, generators, and other machinery.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and hydraulic systems.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with industry safety standards and protocols.
  • Communication and Problem-Solving: Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to work in a physically demanding and often challenging environment.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours and be on-call when necessary.
