Critical Role in Freight Forwarding Operations

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will play a vital part in the operations team, providing expert business/financial analysis to support informed decision-making. Key responsibilities include contributing to business planning, participating in project work, and reporting on operational activities such as KPIs, business volume growth, and process changes.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Process Optimization: Oversee processes across divisions to enhance efficiency and streamline operations.
  2. Reporting: Prepare and circulate reports (daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, yearly) for management to ensure visibility into key performance indicators.
  3. KPI Management: Manage and report KPIs across all divisions to the head, focusing on efficiency and cost reduction.
  4. Process Improvement: Improve freight, customs clearance, and delivery processes by creating SOPs & SLAs.
  5. Tender Reporting: Generate reports for tender awards post-bidding processes on quarterly, half-yearly, and yearly tenders, with a focus on reducing landing costs.
  6. Freight Reporting: Report on freight bookings regularly, based on projections and actual loadings; prepare business development and cost reduction presentations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  1. Experience: Minimum 2+ years of experience in freight, supply chain, and logistics reports and analytics.
  2. Educational Background: A degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or other quantitative fields from a reputable university, with a strong academic record.
  3. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to identify and interpret key business drivers.
  4. Customs Knowledge: Basic knowledge of customs operations, shipping lines, and freight forwarders is desirable.
  5. Software Proficiency: Previous experience with Cargowise1 and Tableau is required.
  6. Soft Skills: Self-starter with the ability to work across functions and in teams; results-driven, capable of handling unstructured assignments.
  7. Communication: Positive attitude, flexibility, and adaptability to a multicultural environment; fluency in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  8. Technical Skills: Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint; programming skills are an advantage.
  9. Leadership: Solution-oriented, quick learner, capable of guiding and training team members to improve work processes.
  10. Interpersonal Skills: Good interpersonal and presentation skills.
