Field Support Representative (Journeyman)

Amentum is hiring a Field Support Representative (Journeyman) to support Product Manager Force Protection Systems (PM FPS) and Product Manager Ground Sensors (PM GS) at locations both CONUS and OCONUS. This role involves providing product support activities such as spares, warehousing, maintenance, transportation, shipping, fielding, equipment operator training, contractor equipment operators, field support representatives (FSRs), systems sustainment, design engineering, and asset visibility management of the Integrated Base Defense (IBD) and Force Protection (FP) systems family.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Install, repair, and service electronic equipment including computers, radar, missile control, avionics, and communications in field installations.
  2. Coordinate with customers or supervisors to plan equipment layout.
  3. Study blueprints, schematics, manuals, and specifications to determine installation procedures.
  4. Oversee or perform installation of equipment per manufacturer's specifications.
  5. Operate systems to demonstrate equipment functionality and analyze malfunctions.
  6. Interpret maintenance manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and repair equipment using electronics knowledge and standard tools.
  7. Instruct and supervise workers in servicing and repairing equipment; train customers on operation.
  8. Consult with engineering staff to resolve system operation and maintenance issues.
  9. Potentially instruct workers in electronic theory.
  10. Supervise testing, tuning, and adjustment of equipment for optimal performance.
  11. Advise management on customer satisfaction, product performance, and improvement suggestions.
  12. Manage consulting, engineering, and operations activities at specific customer locations.
  13. Identify technological changes and communicate their implications to management and customers.
  14. Provide technical support for planning, designing, installing, modifying, and operating information systems.
  15. Develop short and long-term plans for systems application, development, maintenance, and support resources.
  16. Conduct systems analysis, programming, feasibility studies, and cost estimates.
  17. Project hardware and software requirements.
  18. Assign and supervise personnel on projects; review work and prepare performance reports.
  19. Advise staff on administrative and technical issues, priorities, and methods.
  20. Coordinate activities with other information systems sections.
  21. Prepare reports on activities at customer sites.
  22. Discuss performance and scheduling with customer personnel.
  23. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma required.
  • At least 5 years of technical support, maintenance, and repair experience supporting Army tactical units.
  • Active SECRET US Government Clearance required. US Citizenship is mandatory to maintain this clearance.
