Main Purpose of Job
To lead a small team of safety officers in order to promote and maintain a safe working environment.

Job Objectives

  1. To advise all project personnel and subcontractors regarding safe working practices and to develop safety consciousness.
  2. To ensure that every employee is informed and trained to perform their job in a productive and safe way in accordance with KN policies & procedures.
  3. To ensure that authorised programmes of accident prevention, and emergency evacuation are in place.
  4. To maintain a safe and productive working environment by conducting appropriate safety, corrective action, job hazard, and inspections on a regular basis.
  5. To ensure that accident investigations are conducted, when appropriate, in accordance with Company policies & procedures, under the direction of the Safety Department.
  6. To continuously provide specialist advice & education on safety matters to all project personnel.
  7. To promote a positive HSE attitude amongst project employees using an authorised scheme of incentives and deterrents.

Education, Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering from a recognized and reputed university.
  • Successfully completed two or more certified HSE courses in areas such as General Industrial Safety, Construction Safety, Environmental Management, ISO standards, NEBOSH, IOSH, CSP, ASP, CRSP, CMIOSH, CEP, GSP, QEP, CIH, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 8 years experience as HSE personnel, including at least 3 years in Oil and Gas Industries.
  • KOC Approval as Safety Engineer.
  • Understanding of Company policies & procedures, International Standards in Safety, Clients Safety Policy.
  • First Aid, Fire Fighting, Emergency & Evacuation Skills.
  • Training and Supervisory Skills, Auditing Skills, and related documentation knowledge.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in challenging conditions and be on feet for extended periods.
