Overview

This position is physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP.

Under the supervision of the Supply Supervisor, performs inspections on multi-class supply material received at the Retrograde. Makes proper identification and classification of serviceability as it pertains to material received. Examines parts and components to determine serviceability; serviceable, unserviceable-repairable, unserviceable-non-repairable, affixing completed appropriate form/tag for disposition with comments relative to evaluation, stamped by the Inspector. Responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the Retrograde, including performing technical supply management work (e.g., inventory management, storage management, cataloging, and property utilization) related to depot, local, or other supply activities.

Responsibilities

This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.

  1. Apply analytical ability to define and take appropriate supply action based on established guidelines, using a good working knowledge of supply systems, policies, and manuals.
  2. Plan, conduct, and supervise supply technical inspections.
  3. Interpret technical manuals, bulletins, and directives during inspections.
  4. Classify parts condition by examining for damage or wear.
  5. Suggest process improvements and implement them.
  6. Count and verify incoming material receipts.
  7. Examine material for quantity and conformance to specifications.
  8. Compile reports on material, equipment, and inventory.
  9. Prepare daily CDRLs and other reports as required.
  10. Transport materials or supplies using appropriate equipment.
  11. Ensure physical security of sensitive and pilferable material in compliance with regulations.
  12. Receive, store, classify, and sort unserviceable equipment for disposal.
  13. Ensure compliance with safety policies and regulations.
  14. Safeguard Army property and equipment.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Supply Manager.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent; US Citizenship; ability to obtain and maintain Secret Clearance; valid driver's license and ability to obtain U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator's License and host nation Driver's License; minimum of 5 years experience in supply operations.
  • Skills: Problem solving, proficiency with AIS systems (GCSS-Army, FEDLOG, ILW, DLA FEDMAL), understanding of repair parts system, proficiency in supply paperwork, Microsoft Office, Army COSIS, and familiarity with ARs and TMs; good communication skills; customer service training; material handling equipment operation.
  • Working Conditions: Ability to work in extreme weather conditions exceeding 120°F, indoors and outdoors in harsh environments, including desert conditions.
  • Physical Requirements: Medium work capacity, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in conditions requiring PPE; adherence to safety regulations.
