Sustaining a Culture of High Expectations in Teaching, Learning and Assessment:

  1. Provide individual counselling to advise students about course selection, post-secondary education and career pathways.
  2. Use a modified curriculum and the supporting texts.
  3. Assess students to determine learning preferences, strengths and weaknesses; and then plan, develop and implement lessons that differentiate instruction and assessment.
  4. Post long range, unit and lesson plans in a timely manner on MS Teams.
  5. Use technology effectively in the classroom; use technology to monitor and record students' progress and choices.
  6. Use technology to develop and upload teaching resources on Moodle (a virtual learning environment).
  7. Maintain professional competence through in-service activities provided by the school.
  8. Attend all the academic meetings as scheduled by the Principal.

Career Guidance Responsibilities:

  1. To assist all students to develop skills in the areas of personal/social growth, educational planning, and career and vocational development.
  2. Responsible for overseeing standardized tests where applicable.
  3. Prepare students for graduation, checking to make sure that students have all the required credits.
  4. Develop partnerships with universities that could lead to learning opportunities or scholarships.
  5. Provide a wide range of services including evaluating career placement tests, and advising students on admission requirements, exam preparation, financial aid opportunities etc.
  6. Assist students with applications, documentation and references to universities, colleges and other post-secondary education providers.
  7. Maintain accurate student files and records.
  8. Organize Course Selection Fair, field and in-school visits from professionals in a variety of professions to expose students to different career pathways.
  9. Monitor student achievement of meeting their community service requirements/ hours.

Counselling Responsibilities:

  1. Individually counsel students with regards to course selection. (e.g. appropriate to student needs)
  2. Individually counsel students with regards to post-secondary education and career pathways.
  3. Meet with parents as needed to create an awareness of the need for parental support.
  4. Be a member of the Student Support Team.

General:

  1. Work with Principal to ensure that the intervention programs are running effectively and to make accommodations/modifications in the programs based on periodic evaluations.
  2. Work with Principal and committee to oversee Awards Program.

Department Goals:

  1. Achieving the curriculum and developmental goals planned for the year.

Individual Goals:

  1. Be ambassadors in promoting the school.
  2. Implement the weekly plans, unit plans and long-range plans effectively in the classroom.
  3. Maintain a high standard of classroom discipline, student manners, and behavior both inside and outside the classroom.
Requirements

Qualification: Bachelor / Master degree in the relevant subject.

Candidates must have a transferable visa in Kuwait.

Must have 3+ years of work experience in a similar role.
