Kuwait Airways is actively recruiting for the position of Sr. Expert, Passenger Services in the Ground Handling department. In this role, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Basic Function and Scope:

Controls on assigned shifts, airport operations related to passenger traffic and baggage handling, covering ticketing, passenger and baggage check-in, preparation of ships' papers, providing work direction for aircraft load planning and control, Lost and Found baggage handling and claims, etc. Includes liaising with Airport Government Authorities such as CAA, customs, and immigration for timely clearance of passengers prior to aircraft release. Maintains the duty denied boarding tickets during shift in case of no-show and arranging for booking passengers on other airlines as required or may approve MCOs for passengers denied boarding.

Tasks and Duties:

  1. Performs Control duties and exercises financial authority at the level established by the manager of Passenger Services.
  2. Receives duty from previous Shift Manager, reviews Duty Note Book, Daily Movement Report and briefs subordinates accordingly. Includes finalizing checking of uncompleted flights, following up on outstanding irregularities, reviewing telex messages and computer bookings on flights to be handled during his shift, assigning counter, transit and other staff, dependent on anticipated work load, highlighting to subordinates cases that need special handling such as VIPs, patients, unaccompanied children, over-bookings, etc. and pointing out necessary handling procedures to ensure smooth operations during shift. Also represents KAC with other airlines for ground handling services (on shift).
  3. Coordinates passenger and baggage handling activities at Kuwait Airport arrival and departure lounges. Includes ticketing, passenger and baggage check-in, preparing ships' papers, investigating passenger complaints, liaising with Immigration, Customs, Security and Health Authorities for timely clearance of passengers, baggage and aircraft, and coordinating with Civil Aviation Authority for maintenance, and repairs of airport facilities.
  4. Gives direction and controls ramp service activities through Assistant Duty Manager, Ramp Control, related to aircraft loading and unloading covering preparation of Loading Instruction Report (LIR), actual loading of the aircraft to ensure maximum utilization of available space, preparation of Load and Trim Sheet. Includes reviewing special handling reports, investigating discrepancies therein and liaising with Cargo and Mail senior personnel for timely dispatch of their load to avoid any aircraft delays.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree in Administration of Science or equivalent.
  2. 14 years' experience in airport operations in passenger services including required training courses.
