Job Title: Tactical SATCOM Operator

Location: Kuwait, Arifjan

Job Responsibilities

The Tactical SATCOM Operator shall be responsible for:

  • Knowledge of tactical and commercial satellite communication equipment.
  • Operation of satellite modems, associated cables, and interconnects; Low Noise Block (LNB); Intermediate Frequency (IF) cable and connections; antenna, antenna motors, Solid State Power Amplifiers (SSPA), Antenna Control Unit (ACU), and associated cabling and interconnects; Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS); generator (if applicable).
  • Using Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) such as power meters, spectrum analyzers, firebirds, or voltmeters.
  • Understanding LAN/WAN communications, network hardware like Cisco routers, Ethernet switches, bridges, gateways, and firewalls.
  • Knowledge of routing protocols such as RIP, EIGRP, BGP, and OSPF.
  • Experience with MPLS, VPLS, and VPN technologies.
  • Experience with Wireless, Riverbed, and Call Manager Express.
  • Install, repair, and maintain Tactical VSATs, including fiber optic cabling and CAT5E/6 infrastructure.
  • Configure TDMA or FDMA network configurations.
  • Integrate and configure Communications Security (COMSEC) equipment (e.g., KG-175D, KG-175E).
  • Provide training on tactical SATCOM equipment as needed.
  • Submit Satellite Access Requests (SAR/GAR).
  • Travel OCONUS to support the mission (25% or more).
Minimum Qualifications
  • Active US Government Secret Clearance.
  • US Citizenship.
  • Four (4) years of experience in communications electronic systems support.
  • Four (4) years of experience in a tactical environment with satellite equipment.
  • Experience with satellite acquisition procedures and TDMA/DAMA modems.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent military experience with certifications.
