The individual will be responsible for the installation, testing, and repair of the IGX tactical communication package (TCP). Responsibilities include O & M of communication lines, trunking, cabling, switching systems, and related equipment such as modules, cabinets, processors, circuit cards, and power supplies. The technician will perform preventive, corrective, routine, and demand maintenance on the REDCOM IGX Switch and provide telephone services to customers serviced by the switch. Program: OMDAC-SWACA.

This position offers company-paid housing and transportation, a completion bonus, and tuition reimbursement

You must satisfy all host country requirements to legally work there.

Responsibilities
  • Perform all service orders (SEVORD) on the switch.
  • Administer, operate, and maintain telephone systems according to OEM manuals.
  • Update patch programming, telephone prefix, and area codes.
  • Troubleshoot switch and ancillary devices to restore service, including parts replacement and mechanical or programming repairs.
  • Perform remote diagnostics, parts/materials replacement, emergency assistance, and update technical documentation.
  • Coordinate with local exchange carriers for trouble correction, new services, or upgrades.
  • Coordinate with RNOSC for DOD network compliance and telecommunication service orders.
  • Participate in performance assessments, training, and contingency operation preparations, and respond to inspection reports.
  • Maintain logs, cable records, and a telephone database.
  • Verify customer service and complete reports and records.
  • Work environment: 90% office, 10% with Outside Plant personnel.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Active Secret Security Clearance required.
  • High school diploma or GED required; one year related experience may substitute for one year of education.
  • At least five years' experience as a Telephone Switch Technician in telephone systems.
  • Completion of certified training on the REDCOM IGX Switch system.
