Overview

This position is physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP.

Under supervision of Master Electrician, the candidate will install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, operate, and maintain electrical systems and components of electrical power distribution and generating equipment. Responsibilities include maintaining power to telecommunications equipment and ensuring the facility's electrical distribution system is in good repair. The candidate should have electrical work experience in commercial and industrial categories and comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC) 2008 for repairs and upgrades, and NEC 2011 standards for new construction, contract specifications, and MIL Standards/Regulations.

Responsibilities

This description is subject to change as needed to meet program or company requirements.

  • Install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, operate, and maintain electrical systems and components.
  • Perform operations and maintenance duties to ensure power supply to telecommunications equipment and maintain the electrical distribution system.
  • Experience in electrical installation in commercial and industrial settings.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC 2008 for repairs and upgrades, and NEC 2011 for new construction and standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; one year of related experience may substitute for one year of education.
  • Must possess a Journeyman Electrician license.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a host country driver's license.
    • Experience:
    • 5 to 7 years of experience in electrical wiring, including planning, laying out, and installing electrical systems according to NEC, under supervision of a qualified electrician.
      • Skills:
      • Thorough knowledge of Electrical Codes.
      • Ability to manage multiple job sites and priorities.
      • Effective communication and teamwork skills, respecting diverse backgrounds.
      • Strong safety awareness and adherence to safety protocols.
      • Basic computer skills.
        • Working Conditions:
        • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions, including temperatures exceeding 120°F.
        • Indoor and outdoor environments with harsh conditions, including hot, dry, desert environments.
          • Physical Requirements:
          • Light work with occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.
          • May involve heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing/sitting, and exposure to potential hazards.
          • Use of PPE is required.
          • Compliance with all fire and safety regulations.
